A Clare hotel has developed an innovative method of promoting its wedding packages by commissioning a five-part drama based on a relationship that forms between two strangers who meet at Hotel Doolin.
Produced by filmmaker James Skerritt and commissioned by the north Clare hotel, the first episode of "Say I DOolin" has been published today (Monday, 19 January 2015) on YouTube and Hotel Doolin's social media platforms with a new episode appearing each day up to Friday.
There will be daily prize giveaways for viewers with one couple winning a wedding package for up to 100 guests at Hotel Doolin.
"We wanted to create a bit of excitement around our Wild Atlantic Wedding package so following a conversation with film producer James Skerritt we came up with the idea for 'I Say Doolin"," explained Donal Minihane, General Manager, Hotel Doolin.
"The story revolves around two people visiting our hotel to attend the annual Doolin Writers Weekend before meeting again at the Doolin Folk Fest and the Doolin Craft Beer Festival. The film was shot on location at Hotel Doolin over a 5 month period during 2014. The purpose of this promotion Is to get as many people as possible to watch the episodes each day at the end of which we will pose a question on our Facebook page before handing out a daily prize, culminating with Friday's main giveaway," added Mr. Minihane.
The first episode of "Say I DOolin" is available to view on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5Bw_OL8cso) and on the Hotel Doolin Facebook page at www.facebook.com/hoteldoolin.ireland.
