Shopping in Kilrush this Christmas has been made a little easier this year with the announcement that free parking will be provided at all locations throughout the town during the festive period.
Clare County Council, supported by the local business community, has confirmed that the Christmas free parking initiative will commence on Monday 1st December 2014 and continue through to Saturday 6th January 2015.
The news has been welcomed by local businesses and Elected Members alike.
Cathaoirleach of the West Clare Municipal District, Cllr. PJ Kelly noted that the provision of free parking is designed to accommodate visitors to Kilrush, increase footfall on the streets of the town and boost consumer spending.
“Kilrush boasts a wide ranging and quality shopping experience that will be further enhanced by this free parking initiative. I call on the people of Kilrush and the wider West Clare area to avail of the free parking scheme and to show their support for local businesses," commented Cllr. Kelly.
