The Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council has donated his Christmas Card allowance to four local organisations and charities.
Councillor John Crowe says he will this week present Cahercalla Hospice, the RNLI, Clarecastle Daycare Centre and Going Strong Sixmilebridge with cheques for €250 each.
“I am delighted to contribute my Christmas Card allowance to the respective fundraising efforts of these organisations who for very different but important reasons rely on such donations,” stated the Cathaoirleach.
He continued: “Cahercalla Hospice and Clarecastle Daycare Centre are hugely dependant on donations, as are the RNLI and Gong Strong Sixmilebridge. Volunteerism is also an integral part of their respective operations. I hope that my Christmas Card allowance will help each of them with their ongoing fundraising efforts and delivery of vital community services.”
