Clare County Council today launched a newly produced publication detailing enterprise and industrial zoned sites across County Clare.
Aimed primarily at property professionals, investors and other interested parties, the publication of the Directory is a core objective of the Clare County Council Economic Development Strategy 2011-2014.
The Directory sets out the lands that have been zoned under the Clare County Development Plan 2011-2017 and the various Local Area Plans. Relevant information in relation to existing developments on the sites, site area and service availability is also included.
"Combined with the recent establishment of a Local Enterprise Office (LEO) within Clare County Council, this new publication reflects the stronger role being taken by the Local Authority in the area of economic and enterprise development in line with Local Government reforms," commented Mr. Gordon Daly, Senior Planner, Clare County Council.
Mr. Daly noted that the Council's role includes sustaining the diversity of existing employment within County Clare; and identifying, encouraging, facilitating and promoting new opportunities for indigenous employment and inward investment throughout the County.
He continued: "To support this Clare County Council has endeavoured to ensure that there are adequate levels of zoned land available throughout the County to provide for future economic growth. This is in recognition of the important role our towns and villages play in terms of economic development in the County."
The new publication identifies Enterprise and Industrial Zoned Sites in 34 locations throughout County Clare, namely Ennistymon/Lahinch and Scarriff/Tuamgraney (SERVICE TOWNS); Kilkee, Killaloe, Lisdoonvarna, Miltown Malbay, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Sixmilebridge, Tulla (SMALL TOWNS); Ardnacrusha, Ballyvaughan, Carrigaholt, Cooraclare, Corofin, Clonlara, Doonbeg, Feakle, Kilkishen, Kildysart, Kilmihil, Kilmurry, Labasheeda, Lissycasey, Mountshannon (LARGE VILLAGES); and Ballynacally, Cranny, Cree, Killimer, Liscannor, O’ Callaghan’s Mills, Ruan and Tubber (SMALL VILLAGES).
The 'Directory of Enterprise & Industrial Zoned Sites in County Clare' is available to download from www.clarecoco.ie, while copies may also be obtained from LEO Clare and the Planning and Enterprise Development Department of Clare County Council, at Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare.
