High profile showcase event for Clare Tourism

A high profile showcase event for Clare tourism will be held at Dublin's CHQ on May 8th.

“Be Captured by Clare” is being organised by the Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau in partnership with Fáilte Ireland, Shannon Airport and Clare County council who have invited Clare attractions, activity providers and members of the local hospitality sector to participate in the event.

The organisers say the event will be attended by tour operators, professional conference organisers, sporting federations, destination management companies and national associations and institutes as well as Dublin based corporate companies. Travel press and food critics are also on the invite list.

Speaking ahead of the event, Tony Brazil, Chairman, Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau commented: "With the launch of the Wild Atlantic Way, the expansion of services at Shannon Airport and the continued strong performances by flagship attractions such as the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, Lough Derg and the Loop Head Peninsula, County Clare has never been so well placed to market itself as a truly top quality, international visitor destination."

"The upcoming showcase event provides a unique opportunity for Clare tourism providers to participate in a coordinated showcase event outside of the County. The event will be attended by key business and sports tourism influencers and provides an opportunity for individual visitor attractions and accommodation providers to personally showcase their business to some of the key decision makers in the business," Karen Brosnahan, General Manager, Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau.

“This event will be also be used as a platform to launch a new initiative attracting domestic and international charities to host their sporting challenge events in Clare. “Sports tourism is a key economic driver and The Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau have developed a new “Charity Tourism” initiative to attract charities to the county for their events promoting the amazing infrastructure, trails and lakes within the county”. Adam Skerritt, Business and Events Tourism Manager, Failte Ireland
