The Europe Direct Centres in Ireland are holding a "Soapbox" event on Wind Energy entitled “Wind energy – the future or a blot on the landscape?”.Regional events will take place during the month of November in the different Europe Direct Centres around Ireland leading up to the final in Farmleigh House, Dublin on Friday 19 November, which will be chaired by Barbara Nolan, Director of the European Commission Representation in Ireland.

§ Thurles (12 November at 7.00 p.m.)
Regional finalists will win an iPad and a trip to Brussels and will be entered for the national final with a prize of €1,000.
